At the Triennale di Milano, Sguardi Altrove Film Festival curated an artistic section dedicated to Africa: art installations and photographs from Senegal, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Morocco and South Africa. Some of these works include a homage to the Senegalese fashion designer Oumou Sy with stage costumes, videos and a photo reportage by the World Press Photo award winner Shobha Battaglia; a focus on Mama Casset, a pioneer of african photography, with a selection of study portraits and video testimonies on her work; the video loop of a selection of titles that document Nollywood, the rich and surprising film industry of Nigeria.
The main staging element is a sharp sign, a broken red line that separates the different areas and accompanies the visitors along the path.
On top of the exhibition set up, we also worked on the graphic elements, which were made up of panels with diagonal cuts, the relations with the suppliers, and the construction management.
