Museo del Novecento (Milano)

 Francesco Carli

We provided a set up design for the Museo del Novecento and Mondadori Electa exhibition in Milano showing the works of Klein and Fontana: an exhibition widespread on different levels of the museum building and mixed with the permanent collection.

We chose as a fil rouge a number of different luminous elements: some of them were very light and weightless (such as projections of straight lines made of blue lights, showing the public the path to the next rooms of the exhibition) while some other elements were more tangible and visible such as the big neon sign outside the balcony of the museum. This big sign brought back to the central Duomo square the lost tradition of big commercial neon signs, this time used to promote a cultural event with a temporary installation.
